Pre-Season Friendly - Saturday 12th July 2025
Eagles Land 5-2 NW London
NWL Goalscorers : Gherardo Lucchesini 49', 59'

NW London suffered a defeat in their second pre-season friendly, falling 5–2 to Step 7 Middlesex Premier side Eagles Land Cricklewood.

With a back five averaging just 17.5 years of age, NW London started brightly in possession. However, their youthful defence was exposed early, as inexperience at the back led to costly errors. Eagles Land took full advantage, racing to an early lead.

NW London showed promise in their build-up play and technical ability, but lacked conviction around the box and failed to capitalise on several good chances. Eagles Land continued to punish mistakes, adding a breakaway goal and a fourth from a corner to go into the break 4–0 up.

After the interval, NW London came out stronger. Gherardo Lucchessini, making his first start for the club, pulled two goals back with composed finishes from inside the box. NWL nearly added a third shortly after when they struck the crossbar.

But any momentum was short-lived, as Eagles Land sealed the result with a fifth goal from a free-kick. On a hot afternoon, NW London were made to pay for a performance filled with defensive lapses — mistakes they'll be eager to iron out before the competitive season begins.

The Gorillas return to action on Wednesday night against Stonewall FC, who also compete in the Middlesex Premier Division.
