Thurlow Nunn Division 1 South - Saturday 6th September
NW London 3-0 Barkingside
CJ Eseka 35' (NW London)
Hussein Farhat 37' (NW London)
CJ Eseka 90+3' (NW London)
NW London made it three wins in a row with a commanding 3–0 victory over Barkingside at Coles Park, avenging their cup defeat earlier in the season.
Manager Wasim Khan named an unchanged starting XI from the previous week, and the Gorillas set the tone from the opening whistle, dominating possession throughout the contest. Early chances saw CJ Eseka denied from close range and Emmanuel Okoko strike the post from a free-kick, before the pressure began to tell late in the half.
A clever chipped pass from Farhat picked out Bernardino Andeme, who squared for Eseka to slide home the opener. Moments later, Andeme beat his marker with skill, and though Eseka's effort was blocked on the line, Farhat reacted quickest to tap in the rebound from close range.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with NW London controlling possession and steadily increasing the tempo. Eseka missed a chance from a cross, while Wesley Café and Thulio both had efforts that failed to test the goalkeeper. Haliu almost added a third with a fine move, only to see his shot rebound off the inside of the post.
With Barkingside tiring under constant pressure, the decisive third goal came late on. Substitute Gherardo Luchessini delivered a low cross that Eseka converted from close range to seal the win. Only a series of saves from the Barkingside goalkeeper in stoppage time prevented the margin from being greater.
It was a completely dominant display from NW London, who are now showing increasing cohesion and confidence week by week. They will look to extend their excellent form when they host Southend Manor in their next home fixture on Saturday.
